Policy VII

Transgender Athlete Participation
The updated UCI Eligibility Regulations for Transgender Athletes are effective July 17, 2023. These regulations apply to all events the UCI considers an “International Event.” The UCI defines an "International Event" in 13.5.007 as an event registered on the UCI International Calendar in any discipline, including any event for which UCI points are awarded, as well as other events recognized by the UCI such as world records and any other competition organized by or on the behalf of UCI.
USA Cycling's new Transgender Athlete Participation Policy (Policy VII) will take effect on January 1, 2024. The current policy is available here and listed below. The new policy, along with an FAQ and additional resources, can be found at the links below.
The Group B Self-Identification Form formalizes prior email-based self-identification practices, ensuring confidentiality and data integrity. The secure form prevents the loss of athlete information, creates a structured pathway for those progressing from Group B to Group A categorization, and protects athletes from claims of non-compliance with the Transgender Athlete Participation Policy.
Athletes considering transitioning or who are in the process of transitioning and wish to compete are encouraged to check the prohibited status of substances, supplements, and medications, including testosterone, spironolactone, and GnRH agonists, on Global DRO(See section XII).
