Meet the Athlete

Erin was born and raised just outside of the small town of Estes Park, Colorado. As a Colorado native, she grew up exploring all the adventurous sports her beautiful and rugged state had to offer. Eventually, she settled on mountain biking as her sport of choice and pursued elite competition. In 2012, after a few seasons of success on the domestic race scene, Erin was selected to the USA Cycling Mountain Bike World Championship team. This was a turning point in her cycling career where Erin determinedly set her focus on international competition and the desire to become one of the best mountain bike racers in the world. This focus paid off as Erin has made significant gains within the North American and International race scene to become a top US racer; a 2016 and 2020 Olympic Long List team member, 4 time National Champion, and a regular UCI podium threat.

What is one of the most pivotal experiences you've had that helped get you to where you are today?

Earning a spot on the 2012 USA World Championship team was a turning point for me. It was my first major international race and I realized I wanted to see what I was truly capable of at this level.

What is something you would tell your younger self if you could go back in time?

Don't limit yourself. Let yourself dream and set big goals. Just because no one else is doing something, doesn't mean it can't be done.

What are your pre-race rituals?

The day before a race I like to paint my nails. I will choose the nail polish color from my collection based on the name. Some of my favorites are: Petal to the Metal, Endurance Race to the Finish, No Stopping me now, and Go with the Flowy

Racing the Tokyo Test event 4 months after ankle surgery. I felt really good on that course and it made all hours of focused rehab and dreaming of returning to racing, but not knowing if I could, worth it.
